Kind words to get you started.

A handful of what you can write, by feeling. Copy one that fits, or make your own version in the editor.

For yourself

You're ill. That's the whole plan for this week.

Cancel it. All of it. Nobody minds half as much as you've decided they do.

Somebody would have to be very close to see what you got right this year. You're that close.

Last year happened to you. This one you get some say in.

For someone you appreciate

You're pleased for people with nothing else underneath it. That's rarer than anybody admits.

You notice when I've gone quiet, and you leave me exactly the right amount of room.

You apologise now. That's new, and it can't have been easy, and I noticed.

Everybody rings you and hardly anybody thanks you. Today somebody is doing both.

For a thank you

You picked up my half of it for a fortnight and let the review say it was mine.

You changed your plans and made sure I never found out you had.

You gave things up and never told me which ones.

You did jobs you didn't like so that I could pick one I did.

For a hard time

Say the unreasonable version out loud to me. It doesn't leave the room.

Tell me the worst version. I'm not going to flinch and I'm not going to repeat it.

Ring me first for once. I've had the practice.

You don't have to be brave about this in front of me.

For no reason

Not a work message and no action required. This place is better with you in it.

Middle of the week, nothing going on. You're good at this, and it's about time it was written down.

Somebody asked who taught me to cook. I said you, and I was quite smug about it.

I put the kettle on and think of you. That's most mornings.

Turn them into your own words

These examples are a start. In the editor you choose a feeling, change the words, and make something entirely your own.
