These terms and conditions apply to all use of complimentje.nu and to every order placed through the website. By using the website, you agree to these terms.
1. Who are we?
Complimentje.nu is run by Mylene Klijn, trading as MyCreatief. Address: Van Den Boetzelaerlaan 108, 2967 XC Langerak, the Netherlands. Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) number: 90916093. If you have a question, you can use the contact page.
2. Compliments and orders are two separate steps
At Complimentje, everything starts with free words. You can write a compliment, copy it and share it without an account and without buying anything. Writing or sharing a compliment is not an order and places you under no obligation.
An order only exists once you choose a product yourself and complete checkout in full, including payment.
3. How the contract is formed
After checkout, you’ll receive an order confirmation by email. At that moment the contract is formed. We reserve the right to refuse an order in the event of technical errors, misuse or circumstances beyond our control.
4. Prices and payment
All prices are in euros. We are covered by the Dutch small business scheme (kleineondernemersregeling, KOR) and therefore do not charge VAT. Delivery charges are shown clearly before you complete your order. You pay using the payment methods offered at checkout. Orders only go into production once payment has been received.
5. Production and delivery
Every product is printed to order and sent out by a printer: Print API, Probo or Promio, depending on the product. Once you’ve paid, your design goes straight to the printer. Delivery times depend on the product you choose and where it is being delivered. You’ll find estimated delivery times on the payment, delivery and returns page.
We aim to process orders promptly, but we are not liable for delays caused by the production partner, the carrier or circumstances beyond our control.
6. Checking before you order: your responsibility
Before completing your order, you check the design, the wording, the chosen size and the delivery details yourself. What you see in the preview is what will be printed, right down to the line breaks. Only the colours may come out slightly differently on paper or ceramic than on a screen. Once your order is confirmed and paid for, it can no longer be changed, because production starts straight away.
7. Cooling-off period and returns
For a ready-made item, such as a card from the collection, you have a cooling-off period of 14 days. It starts on the day after you receive the item. You do not have to give a reason.
If you want to cancel, let me know within those 14 days at info@complimentje.nu. You can do this in your own words or with the model cancellation form at the bottom of the returns policy. Then send the item back within 14 days to MyCreatief, Van Den Boetzelaerlaan 108, 2967 XC Langerak, the Netherlands. You pay the cost of returning it yourself.
Within 14 days of receiving your notice, I will refund the full amount, including the standard delivery charge you paid. I may wait to refund you until the item is back with me, or until you show that you have sent it.
A product that you design yourself, or make with your own words or photo, is printed just for you. The cooling-off period does not apply to it (Article 6:230p(f) of the Dutch Civil Code).
8. Liability
Complimentje.nu is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of the website, a design or a delivered product, unless it is caused by intent or gross negligence on our part. In any event, liability is limited to the amount of the order concerned.
9. Intellectual property
The words you enter when you write a compliment are yours. The word collections, the platform and the software are owned by Complimentje.nu or used under licence. You may share and print the finished design for personal use, but you may not resell or distribute it for commercial purposes without permission.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. We prefer to settle any dispute by talking it through. If that doesn’t work, the dispute may be brought before the competent court in the Netherlands.
11. Changes
We reserve the right to change these terms. The latest version is always on this page.
